Free Parking

“You might be a Redneck if…you mow your yard and find a car.”, to quote the very funny Mr. Jeff Foxworthy. I guess when you grow your blackberries in your truck, it’s much easier to get them to market!

Nerves of Stone

This skateboarder is “rockin’” the summer away at Jason Lee Middle School. Hanging out in the courtyard is much quieter now that school is out for the summer! But we’ll be Back to School shopping soon enough!

Our family had the opportunity to visit Mt. St. Helens the day before the 29th Anniversary of its eruption. I am speechless, as words cannot fully express the “awesomeness” of it all. We saw people from many different parts of the world, all standing in awe. How lucky are we to live in Vancouver, WA and have this in “our backyard”.

Pioneer Chapel

I have always loved this old church on Highway 99 in Salmon Creek. It is the Pioneer Chapel, at the Salmon Creek United Methodist Church. The Chapel was one of the first two built in Clark County by pioneer families who moved to this area with dreams of a better life. It has been a Clark County landmark since 1900.

Snowing in April?

The way the weather has been this past winter, I wouldn’t doubt it. But today it only looked like it was snowing in Salmon Creek as the breeze rustled through the cherry blossoms on the trees lining this neighborhood street.

This is a picture of the billboard at Klineline Pond/Salmon Creek Watershed. “We All Live Down Stream”; just one of those “things that make you go hmm.”

Signs of Spring

The weather report says “Chance of Snow”, but from where I’m sitting in Salmon Creek I think the weather report should be “Sunny, with a Chance of Spring”.

OK, I don’t know that Chuck Norris actually said “I approve this message” or not, but “Amen!”

6 More Weeks of Winter?

The Groundhog predicts 6 more weeks of winter, but these 2nd Graders from Salmon Creek Elementary are enjoying a sunny recess and have their own prediction, “Spring is almost here.” Let’s hope they are right.

Baa Baa Brown Sheep

Well, that’s one way to keep your grass mowed. Just not used to seeing this right here in our suburban neighborhood.
